Crazy right? Well, some recent hits didn't have it easier:

• Life of Pi by Yann Martel – thhis book was rejected by numerous publishing houses before becoming a best-seller and a movie
• Twilight by Stephanie Meyers – despite reaching no 5 on the New York Time's bestseller list it was rejected by 14/15 publishers
• Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling – the global sensation that create an empire of books, movies, theme parks and much more was rejected by over 10 publishing houses.

Now, despite what you think about each of this books you can't deny it's popularity and impact on the world.
